NEWSLETTERS

There are approximately 500 large social housing landlords in the UK - local
authorities and housing associations - responsible for approximately 5 million
homes. Each landlord publishes a tenant newsletter magazine at regular intervals
and distributes it free of charge to its tenants, keeping them informed of key
issues and general news. The Wise-Up team has direct access to the editors of
these newsletters.


DEMOGRAPHICS
Social housing tenants are a demographically well-defined sector with a well documented
profile and a higher than average proportion of certain groups, for example:

Head of Household is… All UK Housing Social Housing
Retired 26% 34%
Lone parent 9% 20%
Permanently sick or disabled 4% 11%
Looking after home/family 3% 8%
Unemployed 2% 6%


CAMPAIGNS
A typical Wise-Up campaign on behalf of an advertiser comprises the following elements:
 o  Agree a contract to target:
       o  A specified number of households
       o  Over a specified period of time
       o  Across the UK or restricted to specified regions: 1.London/SE/E/EM;
           2.SW/WM/Wales; 3.YH/NE/NW; 4.Scotland
 o  Convert the advertiser’s graphics into a range of suitably sized and
     formatted ‘Wise-Ups’.
 o  Contact editors and obtain commitment to include Wise-Ups in their newsletters.
 o  Collect fees from advertiser based on the commitments to publish and the number of      households reached.
 o  Pay the landlords a fee for including the Wise-Up in the newsletter, on receipt of evidence      (copies of the relevant newsletters).
 o  Confirm publication to the advertiser; supply sample copies of newsletters if required and      adjust invoices based on final distribution figures if necessary.
 o  Submit a final report at the end of the campaign.
